The Sunday Reset That Actually Makes Monday Bearable

Let's be honest. By the time Sunday rolls around, most of us are somewhere between "I really need to get my life together" and "I am absolutely not mentally prepared for tomorrow."

And that's okay. A Sunday reset isn't about being perfect or turning into some productivity queen overnight. It's just about doing a few small things so that future you isn't completely overwhelmed come Monday morning.

Think of it less like a chore list and more like a little gift to yourself. Here's a simple, realistic reset you can actually stick to.

Put the Phone Down. Seriously.

We are glued to our screens all week long. Emails, social media, group chats, work notifications, the algorithm pulling you in at 11 PM. Your brain barely gets a chance to breathe.

Try going screen free for at least part of your Sunday. Start small if you need to. One hour, two hours, maybe four. If you're feeling bold, try most of the day.

Use that time to rest, tidy up, cook something, journal, or just exist without doom scrolling every five minutes. You'll be surprised how much calmer your brain feels when it's not constantly consuming content.

Handle the Laundry Mountain

We all have one. That growing pile of clothes you've been meaning to deal with since Thursday.

Instead of trying to tackle it all at once, do one load at a time. Wash, dry, fold, and actually put it away before starting the next one. Small wins count. Even knocking out one or two loads means you're not digging through a basket Monday morning looking for that one clean outfit.

Do a Little Prep

A little planning goes a long way during the week. Use Sunday to grocery shop, do some light meal prep, or at least figure out what you're going to eat so you're not ordering Uber Eats every night because you're exhausted and there's nothing in the fridge.

Picking out your outfits for the week also saves so much mental energy in the mornings. Even just planning your work looks or gym sets ahead of time makes getting ready way less chaotic.

Reset Your Space

You don't have to deep clean the whole house. Just tidy up the spaces you use every day.

Wipe down the kitchen counters. Clean up the bathroom. Throw out the random receipts and cups living in your car. And yes, finally deal with that week old Chipotle bag. You know it's there.

Actually Rest Though

This one matters most and gets skipped the most.

A reset isn't just about checking things off a list. It's also about slowing down before another full week starts. Take a moment to actually chill. Read something. Watch your comfort show. Take a long shower. Call your bestie. Do something that reminds you that you're a human being, not just a to do list.

Reset Your Way

Your Sunday reset doesn't have to be perfect. Even doing one or two of these things can help you start the week feeling more grounded and way less stressed.
